What Is Cold Process Soap Making?

Cold process soap making involves mixing oils with a lye solution (sodium hydroxide dissolved in water). The chemical reaction — saponification — converts the oils and lye into soap and glycerin. Unlike melt-and-pour, you start from scratch and control every variable.
